Junior Achievement

The Rotary Club arranged for high school students to come into 1st and 2nd grade classrooms today. High School students taught the children about needs and wants as well as what a family does for each other and how a community works together to make it a nice place to live. Ask your child their favorite thing they did today with Trinity.

Baby pictures

Wow how we have changed! Children are learning that living things grow and change. This week we focused on babies can be the same AND different from their parent. We shared ideas on how we are the same and different from when we were young. We will also do a fun guessing game with the baby pictures.

Science Day

Friday, March 14, we will have a school-wide science day.  Students will travel around to various classrooms to do neat science experiments.

In honor of this day, 1st grade teachers are asking students to dress up like a "mad scientist"!  Be as creative as you would like.  You can cut a white shirt up the middle to make a lab coat, spike your hair, or wear crazy socks.  Don't forget some goofy scientist glasses!

Today we labeled plant parts. Laynee chose to do it on the board during free time.

The next 4 weeks we will be studying plants during science. We will discuss the parts in detail and then talk about what they need and how they grow.

Lunch Time

Did you know?

You can limit how much money your child spends while going through the lunch line.  I believe you can even set different amounts for different days.

I've noticed a lot of the children buying extra treats when they get to the cashier.  This may be something you reward your child with on a Friday for having a good week at school.  Something definitely to be discussed at home so they know if they are allowed to buy the extra chips or ice cream that the cafeteria offers for a small fee.

Use the "My lunch money" link under the links tab on our class site.
