Lunch Time

Did you know?

You can limit how much money your child spends while going through the lunch line.  I believe you can even set different amounts for different days.

I've noticed a lot of the children buying extra treats when they get to the cashier.  This may be something you reward your child with on a Friday for having a good week at school.  Something definitely to be discussed at home so they know if they are allowed to buy the extra chips or ice cream that the cafeteria offers for a small fee.

Use the "My lunch money" link under the links tab on our class site.

Field Trip

We will be visiting the UNF nature center on Tuesday, March 3.

Please send your child with a lunch from home that day since we will be eating there.  Also, your child should wear their class dragonfly shirts and closed toe shoes.  The trail is pretty shady, but you certainly can lather on some sunscreen in the morning.

Character Student

This month's character trait was tolerance.  We have been learning about the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for all people to be treated equally so it went perfectly with this month's trait.

Kaitlynn is our character student this month.  Kaitlynn is always willing to work with any partner I assign her.  I never hear an exasperated sigh or see a look of disappointment on her face because she is truly eager to work with anyone in our room.  I often hear her working in a group setting graciously trying to solve whatever problem has come up.  She can often be seen on the playground playing with different groups of children throughout the week.  She is very accepting of others.

Great job Kaitlynn! You are a model for our classroom.

Most Improved

Every 9-week grading period I get the difficult task of picking a student that has made a lot of growth academically and/or socially.

Stella is our most Improved student for the 2nd 9-weeks. Stella has grown in her independence completing all work on her own. Rarely do I have to repeat directions for hee because she is sure to listen. I enjoy watching Stella during tests because she is always sure to read through things carefully and take her time.

Great job Stella!
